What is the city doing right, and wrong, on gun violence?
Durham will have to get it right on this side of history (during this pandemic) in establishing innovative and solutions oriented initiatives to reduce poverty, aggressively address criminal activities, and engage better community policing practices. All are recognizable societal ills that encapsulate our most vulnerable residents.
If elected, what would your two or three priorities be during your first year in office?
I possess a bold new vision and plan to revive our local economy, while addressing our public health crisis, economic and racial inequities, and climate change.
What unique skills or life perspective would you bring to city governance?
I’m a social entrepreneur and researcher with a master of public administration degree. I possess well over a decade of experience in implementing poverty-reduction solutions using innovations in technology and entrepreneurship — in the Durham community and beyond.
Additionally, I am experienced in global public health and policy, law enforcement (as a former communications officer), social/clinical research and community organizing. All very valuable skills needed to lead Durham toward a better horizon.
