The days of ordering off McDonald’s Dollar Menu are long gone, but your next trip to the Gold Arches could cost a bit less.

McValue, McDonald’s new value platform, launches Tuesday, Jan. 7, at participating restaurants nationwide, the fast-food giant announced back in November.

Fan favorites, including the $5 meal deal, are part of the nationwide rollout aimed at “giving customers even more ways to enjoy the food they love, for less,” according to a news release.

McDonald’s McValue will include current fan-favorites including the $5 Meal Deal, the fast-food chain said.

McDonald’s said customers will have access to exclusive in-app offers, food and drink deals from local franchisees and a new “buy one, add one for $1” offer on popular breakfast, lunch and dinner items.

“When it comes to value, we know there’s no one-size-fits-all,” Joe Erlinger, president of McDonald’s USA, said in the release. “We’ve worked closely with our franchisees to create a new platform that will let our customers define value on their own terms.”

With McDonald’s new “buy one, add one for $1” offer, customers can buy a full-price item from a limited menu and add another item from that menu for an additional $1, according to the release.

McValue breakfast menu items include:

  • Sausage McMuffin
  • Sausage biscuit
  • Sausage burrito
  • Hashbrowns

McValue lunch/dinner menu items include:

  • Six-count chicken McNuggets
  • Double cheeseburger
  • McChicken
  • Small fries

The $5 meal deal — featuring customers’ choice of a McChicken or a McDouble sandwich, small fries, four-count McNuggets and a drink— will also stick around through next summer, McDonald’s said.

The chain’s original Dollar Menu debuted in October 2002 to “mixed” results, the Chicago Tribune reported at the time.

In 2018, it was succeeded by the “$1 $2 $3 Dollar Menu” featuring classics such as the cheeseburger and sausage McGriddle at varying price points, according to Business Insider.

The latter saw push back from some customers who railed against the lack of menu items actually priced at $1, the outlet reported.

Customers can find McValue offers in-restaurant and on the My McDonald’s mobile app.
