At first glance, it may not seem like these celebrities have much in common, but they do share one similarity: They’ve all been seen visiting Golden Krust.

The Jamaican restaurant born in New York that has since expanded to more than 110 locations across eight states is opening its third Triangle location this week.

The new restaurant at Raleigh’s Brier Creek will open Thursday, Dec. 19 at 8741 Brier Creek Parkway, the company shared in a news release.

The Brier Creek Commons shopping center, where the restaurant will open, is home to several stores and restaurants including Alpaca Peruvian Charcoal Chicken, Azitra, Bar Louie, Brier Creek Beer Garden, Gigi’s Cupcakes and Rise.

Golden Krust’s menu

The Jamaican restaurant is known for its patties, which are made with meat or veggie fillings stuffed inside a flaky crust.

For entrees, Golden Krust also serves braised oxtail, jerk chicken, curried goat and escovitch fish, which all come with a choice of rice, steamed vegetables and fried sweet plantains.

Breakfast items include ackee and saltfish, Jamaica’s national dish, made with sauteed saltfish simmered with onions, tomatoes and peppers, and served with boiled bananas, yam or fried dumplings.

Golden Krust also prepares baked goods such as spice bun, hard dough bread and rock cake.

What else is new in the Brier Creek area?

Epic Chophouse, which was founded in Mooresville in 2010, is opening its fourth location at Brier Creek Commons, The News & Observer previously reported. The steakhouse is beloved for its steaks and chophouse cheese toast appetizer, and it offers an extensive wine list and craft cocktails.

Skechers opened earlier this year at the shopping center between Total Wine & More and Bath & Body Works. This was the brand’s second store in the Triangle, joining the location at Cary’s Crossroads Plaza.

Over the summer, construction began at the forthcoming Swing Racquet + Paddle, a 44-acre sports and entertainment venue with more than 70 sports courts, The N&O previously reported. Expected to open in 2026, the venue will have tennis, pickleball, padel, beach tennis and beach volleyball courts plus a ping-pong lounge.
