Triangle residents will soon have a new place to get burritos and Mexican-inspired bowls.

Chipotle Mexican Grill is opening a new restaurant in Cary on Tuesday, Dec. 17.

Though the restaurant will be the third location for the town, it will be the town’s first with a “Chipotlane:” a drive-thru pickup lane that allows customers to grab their to-go orders while remaining in their vehicles.

Chipotle operates about 3,600 locations, and nearly 30% of them have a Chipotlane, the company announced in a November press release. Chris Brandt, the chief brand officer, said in the release that Chipotlanes increase sales, margins and returns, and are important to the company’s goal of reaching 7,000 restaurants in North America.

The new Cary location at 3402 Kildaire Farm Road is hiring and will employ about 30 people.

Its opening hours will be 10:45 a.m.-11 p.m. daily.

Guac is still extra

Known for its burritos and bowls, California-based Chipotle confirmed earlier in December that it will raise prices in the United States to offset inflation and the costs of increasing portion sizes, AP previously reported.

Chipotle Mexican Grill announced in late 2024 that it would raise prices across the United States.

The 2% increase is Chipotle’s first time to raise prices in more than a year, the company’s chief corporate affairs officer confirmed to the AP.

This comes as U.S. consumers continue to pay more for food. According to the November Consumer Price Index release from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the food index increased 0.4% over the month.
