When will trash & recycling be picked up in the Triangle amid the snow? See the schedule
Many Triangle residents should expect changes to their usual curbside collections this week due to the snow.
With parts of the area receiving up to 2 inches of snow, The News & Observer reported, several cities and towns delayed or canceled collections on Wednesday, Jan. 22.
Here’s a list of the changes, arranged alphabetically.
Triangle curbside trash and recycling collection
- Apex: Trash and recycling will not be collected on Jan. 22. Routes Wednesday, Thursday and Friday will be delayed by one day.
- Cary: Curbside collection is canceled Jan. 22 and will resume Jan. 23. Tuesday’s collection will be Jan. 23, Wednesday’s will be Jan. 24, and Thursday’s will be Saturday, Jan. 25.
- Chapel Hill: Solid Waste services are canceled Jan. 22. Yard trimming collections for Jan. 23 are canceled.
- Durham: Curbside collections are canceled Jan. 22. The Waste Disposal & Recycling Center is closed Jan. 22.
- Garner: Residents should place trash and recycling carts at the curb on their regular collection day, but weather will likely affect collection times.
- Holly Springs: GFL will not collect garbage or recycling Jan. 22. Collection is delayed one day for the rest of the week.
- Morrisville: Garbage, recycling and yard waste will not be collected Jan. 22. All collections by GFL are pushed back one day.
- Orange County: Solid Waste Facilities are closed Jan. 22, and there will be no recycling.
- Raleigh: Solid Waste services will operate on a delayed schedule, beginning routes at 10 a.m. Jan. 22. The Yard Waste Center will open at 10 a.m. Jan. 22.
- Wake County: Solid Waste facilities open at noon Jan. 22.
Wake Forest: Curbside trash and recycling collections are canceled Jan. 22. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday routes will be collected a day later.
