Which Triangle towns are changing trash pickup schedules due to snow? Here’s a list
Triangle cities and towns are responding to the predicted snow and ice slated to start on Friday, Jan. 10, and some are changing trash and recycling pickup schedules.
Keep track of changes to collection schedules with this list, which will be updated.
▪ Apex: Trash and recycling collection will begin one hour early on Friday, Jan. 10 to try and service as many homes as possible.
▪ Durham: All collections scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 11, are canceled, and collections will resume Monday, Jan. 13. The Waste Disposal and Recycling Center will close at 2 p.m. Friday and stay closed Saturday. Find your collection day at durhamnc.gov.
▪ Holly Springs: Garbage, recycling and yard waste collection began at 6 a.m. Jan. 10. The Yard Waste Convenience Center will be closed Jan. 11.
▪ Orange County: Crews will work to complete recycling collections quickly on Jan. 10, to avoid being out in any wintry weather.
▪ Raleigh: Businesses in the Central Business District, bounded by Peace Street, Blount Street, Cabarrus Street and West Street, will not be serviced by Solid Waste Services on Jan. 11. Sunday collections in the Central Business District will be operating on a four-hour delay. The Yard Waste Center will be closed Jan. 11 and will resume normal operations Jan. 13.
▪ Wake County: Solid waste facilities are open 12-5 p.m. Jan. 11 and 12-5 p.m. Jan. 12.
