A Krispy Kreme fan favorite will head back to the bakery case but not for long.

The pumpkin spice original glazed doughnut returns for one week only starting Monday, Aug. 11, at participating Krispy Kreme shops nationwide, the Charlotte-based doughnut chain said in a news release.

The seasonal treat, made with “just the right touch of pumpkin spice,” was offered for just three days last year. Now fans will have a full week to enjoy it before it leaves menus again Aug. 17.

“Pumpkin spice fans are counting down the days to their favorite season and we’re happy to kick it off by bringing back our Pumpkin Spice Original Glazed doughnut – earlier and for a longer period,” Alison Holder, chief brand and product officer for Krispy Kreme, said in the release.

Customers can purchase the doughnuts individually or by the dozen, Krispy Kreme said.

Other pumpkin spice offerings are also set to hit menus Aug. 11 and include:

  • Original glazed pumpkin spice cake doughnut
  • Pumpkin spice latte
  • Pumpkin spice coffee

All three will be available through the fall, Krispy Kreme said.
