What would be your top priority if elected?

My top priority if elected is keeping government out of your life. I will work to reduce the size and scope of government, cut unnecessary regulations and protect your right to make your own decisions — whether it’s your health care, finances or the right to defend yourself. We must shrink government, expand liberty and ensure that North Carolina is a place where you control your own destiny, not bureaucrats.

By percentage, what raises should state employees, school staff and teachers receive in the next state budget?

In the next state budget, state employees and school staff should receive raises that match the inflation rate to keep up with the cost of living. For teachers, raises should be higher if needed to stay competitive with neighboring states and attract quality educators. This approach ensures fairness for public workers while keeping North Carolina schools strong and competitive.

What legislation would you support to improve Triangle transportation, housing or infrastructure? Please be specific.

While I haven’t come across a specific bill I would support yet, I believe we can improve housing by reducing unnecessary regulations that limit development. By cutting red tape, we can increase the supply of available housing, which will naturally help bring down prices and make homes more affordable for everyone.

Do you think the legislature should fund about $500 million for private school vouchers through the Opportunity Scholarship program? Why or why not?

Yes, I support funding private school vouchers through the Opportunity Scholarship program. Every family deserves the right to choose the best educational path for their children, without being restricted by their income or ZIP code. By allocating $500 million, we empower parents to decide what’s best for their child’s education. This competition encourages improvement across all schools and gives families more freedom and flexibility in finding the right fit for their children’s needs.

Is there an issue on which you disagree with your party? What is your position on that issue?

One issue where I differ from the Libertarian Party of North Carolina is eminent domain. While the LPNC opposes it entirely, I recognize that eminent domain may be necessary in some cases to support vital infrastructure projects that benefit the public. However, I firmly believe it should never be used to take property and give it to another individual or company. The government must respect property rights and only use eminent domain when absolutely essential for public use.
