Have you run for elected office before? No

Please list highlights of your civic involvement: This is the entrance to me doing my civic duties.

What are the three issues that you see as most important to your district and what will you do to address them?

Our district and state would benefit from a school choice program where the state funding would follow the student to give parents more choices and help to teach the students in their learning style. I would advocate for the decommissioning of the ABC system and allow businesses to be the source of liquor instead of the government. I would work to help reform the foster care system to assist foster children in their transition to adulthood.

At a time when costs are rising, state government has a surplus. How should it be used?

We should increase funding in the foster care system to make sure the children are getting the proper care and are able to get out of bad situations as well as have proper trauma counseling. I would also make sure programs are available to help those age 16+ to start planning their future and transitioning to become an adult.

Will you vote for Medicaid expansion in North Carolina?

No.

What has the legislature gotten right, and what has it gotten wrong, about public education in North Carolina?

North Carolina put their money where their mouth is by providing funding during the COVID crisis, doing what is best for both the students and the teachers. Where I think North Carolina has lapsed is by providing funding to other programs outside of the traditional form of education. I think there are great benefits to traditional learning as well as other education types. Parents should have a choice in education to best fit their children.

Should North Carolina change its abortion laws? How?

There should be a ban on abortion, with some exceptions.

Please add anything else voters should know about your position on the legality or availability of abortion in North Carolina.

I think this is a very nuanced conversation and it’s not as simple as banning or not banning abortions. I think many topics need to be explored before making any policy changes.

Should medical marijuana be legalized in North Carolina?

Yes.

What, if anything, should the legislature do to shape curriculum dealing with topics of race, sexuality and gender?

It is inappropriate to have these conversations in the classroom. The purpose of school is to teach academia and not social interactions.

Do you accept the results of the 2020 presidential election?

No.
