Arby’s teases return of ‘iconic’ menu item — and it’s here to stay. What to know
An Arby’s fan favorite is headed back to menus, permanently.
Customers can sink their teeth into a crunchy potato cake starting Monday, March 24, the sandwich chain announced this week.
The “iconic” side item returned for a limited time in July before disappearing yet again. Before that, the treat — made with shredded potatoes “fried to a crispy golden brown”— was last offered in 2021, McClatchy News reported.
Arby’s said the potato cakes are back for good this time. It even has an unconventional plan to ensure the beloved treats aren’t ever removed from the menu again.
The restaurant invited fans of its fried potatoes to sign up for a “pre-class action lawsuit” should the potato cakes be phased out again, according to a news release.
“If removed, Arby’s will pay out $1 million worth of Arby’s food to be split amongst the signees,” it said. “No menu item return has ever been this ironclad.”
Pricing information wasn’t immediately available.
