A man who played the Missouri lottery “once a week” for two decades has finally won, Missouri Lottery announced.

The man, who was not identified, won a $50,000 Powerball prize in a Nov. 6 drawing, a Missouri Lottery news release said. He purchased the winning lottery ticket at Lakers Eagle Stop in Camdenton.

He said he played every week.

“I usually spend $10 once a week just for the weekend drawing. Been doing it like 20 years,” he said in the Dec. 20 release. “Finally won one!”

The winner said his extra cash would be helpful for his retirement.

Camdenton is about 150 miles southeast of Kansas City, Missouri.
