Watch these massive sea lions living their best life — chilling on a boat in Puget Sound
Spotted in Puget Sound: Two sea lions on a boat.
Josh Phillips says he and a friend were in a boat Tuesday about 4 p.m. in Eld Inlet when they came across another boat anchored in the water.
“It looked a little off and we got closer and closer and realized there were two massive animals on board,” Phillips said.
They got closer still, careful not to spook the sea lions. Video of the encounter shows the sea lions looking in his direction but not budging from the boat.
Another video posted on YouTube that was shot from shore shows a third animal in the water trying to get on the boat and being turned away.
Phillips, who owns Olympia, Washington-based Spawn Fly Fish, an online fly fishing equipment retailer, said in his time on the water he has seen orcas and gray whales, but never, well, sea lions chilling on a boat.
“I’ve never seen anything like this,” he said.
