Man found shot to death Friday morning is Raleigh’s 3rd homicide in a week

A 56-year-old man was found dead after a shooting was reported in Raleigh early Friday morning.

The Raleigh Police Department found the body of Bobby Earl Lucas around 3:15 a.m. after responding to a reported shooting on the 4100 block of Bland Road, according to a news release.

Suspect sought in weekend shooting

The fatal shooting comes after two other men died from their wounds at WakeMed after Saturday shootings.

On Thursday afternoon, Raleigh police asked for the public’s help in locating Allen Jhalil Williams, 26.

Williams is wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of Martin Dexter Penny, 29, who was found with gunshot wounds on the 1400 block of Beauty Avenue late Saturday evening, a news release states.

The second man killed last weekend, William Stanton Kinney, 36, died after officers found him wounded on the Hammond Road exit ramp off Interstate 40 at 3:30 a.m. Saturday. Police have charged Noshakir Tysha Lewis, 22, with his murder, according to a news release.
