Durham police make 2nd arrest in Hoover Road shooting, seek 3rd suspect
The first of two suspects sought by police in a November shooting on Hoover Road was arrested early Saturday morning.
Brandon Perry was arrested by Durham police but they still are seeking Hashiem Smith in connection with the incident.
Perry, 21, was wanted for attempted first-degree murder. He was being held in the Durham County jail in lieu of $600,000 bail.
Earlier this week, the U.S. Marshals Service Joint Fugitive Task Force arrested Daiquan Lea McCallum, 20, in the 300 block of Avon Lake Drive in connection with the shooting. McCallum was charged with attempted first-degree murder and taken to the Durham County jail.
The shooting happened around 6:41 p.m. Nov. 14 in the 1100 block of South Hoover Road, where officers found a 22-year-old man who had been shot several times, police reported. The victim, who recovering from his injuries, was sitting on a porch when several men dressed in black approached him and fired several shots, they said.
