“Loretta has earned a reputation as a nonpartisan communicator who excels at getting clear and concise information to the public,” Briner said in the news release. “I am very excited for her to join the team and use her skills to serve as a conduit between the Department and the people of North Carolina on issues important to their daily lives.”

Boniti’s last day on air was Monday, Jan. 20.

“I love journalism and love that you have let me tell your stories,” Boniti said during her last broadcast, which she shared on social media.
