There are five new rides for the thrill-seekers attending this year’s North Carolina State Fair.
Here’s the thing about all of the new rides: they all spin. Some spin smoothly in the air, while others jerk you around. These new rides are not intended for young children, although one allows smaller folks to get on the ride when accompanied by a taller adult.
New rides at the 2022 NC State Fair
Here are the ticket and height requirements for all five:
• Air Maxx: This ride, which spins and flies high in the air, requires six tickets, and riders need to be 48” or taller.
• Crazy Cabs: This ride keeps the spinning closer to the ground. It requires four tickets and riders need to be 48” to ride alone, or 42” to ride with an adult.
• Techno Jump: This ride bounces riders up and down while spinning them around. It requires six tickets and riders need to be 48” or taller.
• Wave Swinger 2: This ride looks like the traditional “swing” rides already found at the Fair, but we’re guessing the “2” indicates a newer version. It requires five tickets, and riders need to be 48” or taller.
• Wipeout: According to a video from the Florida State Fair, this ride spins in the air like a berserk Ferris wheel while spinning riders in the opposite direction. It requires five tickets, and riders need to be 48” or taller.
