Raleigh-Durham International Airport closed its main parking deck after a traveler reported seeing someone with a weapon early Tuesday morning.

RDU law enforcement responded around 6:20 a.m. to an individual who called 911 to report seeing a weapon in the parking deck.

The airport closed the parking deck entrance while security swept the deck and determined there was no danger, airport spokeswoman Stephanie Hawco said in an email.

The parking deck reopened about 8 a.m.

This is the second time the airport has closed a parking deck in the past year.

In September, the deck was closed for nearly two hours after law enforcement responded to a call of an attempted carjacking, The News & Observer reported.
