Looking for love? Singles rate this NC city among the best in the country for dating

If you’re single in one North Carolina city, you may not be for long.

That’s because the Raleigh metro area is among the top places in the country for daters, survey results released earlier this month show.

The region’s dating scene ranks No. 3 in the United States, surging from the 28th spot it held last year, according to findings from Apartment List, a website for renters.

“The influx of young professionals entering the area every year mixed with the 22,000 students attending local North Carolina State University is likely one of the reasons for the increase in dating satisfaction,” the study finds.

To get results from 86 metro areas, Apartment List says it surveyed renters from Feb. 15 to Dec. 31, 2019. The website analyzed responses from more than 11,000 who were single, according to the results.

In the Raleigh area, 42 percent of respondents said they were “satisfied with dating opportunities,” findings show.

But people looking for love in other parts of the state may not be as lucky.

In November, a WalletHub study found Winston-Salem was one of the worst places in the United States for singles, The News & Observer reported.

The outlook was a bit better last month, when WalletHub named North Carolina the 15th best state for singles.

So where’s the nation’s best place to find a partner?

Singles give the highest ratings to the Provo, Utah, metro area, Apartment List findings show. The lowest ranking went to North Port, Florida, roughly 50 miles northwest of Fort Myers.
