One of the co-owners of a popular natural foods store in Raleigh has opened a new business focused on health.

Steve Long, who owned Harmony Farms Natural Foods for nearly two decades, has opened a new business in Wake Forest.

The new store, Health Wisdom Naturals, offers a range of products such as vitamins, supplements, organic bulk herbs, body care and cosmeceuticals, including items from the Evanhealy brand.

“There’s nothing artificial in this store,” Long told The News & Observer. “We sell the best of the best.”

Health Wisdom Naturals also offers red light therapy, available for customers at $1 per minute.

“We’re enjoying helping our community stay as healthy as they can through the natural ways,” Long said. “And we have the ways and means to be able to discuss those things with you and put the right products in your hands.”

Supplements and other products at Health Wisdom Naturals are non-GMO, and the store is focused on organic and regenerative items.

New health store open in Wake Forest

Long and his wife, Nancy Long, who are both energy medicine practitioners and Reiki masters, bought Harmony Farms in 2005 and sold the Creedmoor Road business in 2023.

After they sold the business, Long kept hearing from people wanting to know about supplements, but couldn’t find experts. He knew he would need to get a full-time job, in addition to his part-time healing practice, but didn’t want to go into the organic grocery industry.

“With my background in supplements, it just made a lot more sense to just take that route,” Long said.

He and a former employee began looking for a space to open a new store. They were drawn to a 3,000-square-foot space in Wake Forest, at 11216 Capital Blvd., where Long has often visited and has seen grow.

“It’s a great location and pretty convenient all the way around,” Long said.
