A popular shopping center near Raleigh-Durham International Airport is getting two new businesses.

Brier Creek Commons will host a new salon for kids and a sugaring and spray tan studio.

The shopping center contains large retailers including BJ’s Warehouse Club, Target, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Barnes & Noble and HomeGoods, along with several restaurants. Two of the newest dining concepts to open at Brier Creek are the steakhouse Epic Chophouse and the Jamaican chain Golden Krust.

Here’s what to know about the new businesses.

New salon offering kids’ haircuts

Sharkey’s Cuts for Kids, the chain that specializes in haircuts for children, will join a building near Brier Creek Parkway that hosts Rise Biscuits, Brier Creek Dental Studio and Slice of New York Pizza. It is moving into the former GameStop space.

While kids are getting their hair cut, they can sit in chairs shaped like race cars and fire trucks, while watching shows or playing games.

The grand opening for the salon, located at 8301 Brier Creek Parkway, Suite 105, begins Saturday, Jan. 31. Customers who book an appointment on Jan. 31 or Sunday, Feb. 1 will be entered to win free haircuts for a year.

At Brier Creek, Sharkey’s will join Blo Hair Salon and Great Clips.

There are several other Sharkey’s locations in the Triangle, including in North Raleigh, Garner, Cary, Morrisville and Durham.

New tanning, hair removal studio

Gloloft is a new sugaring hair removal and spray tanning studio coming to Brier Creek.

The salon has not announced an opening date. It is the only tanning studio at the shopping center but not the first hair removal studio, as Brier Creek is already home to European Wax Center.

Gloloft will be located at 8521 Brier Creek Parkway, Suite 115.
