The department store will be leaving Raleigh’s Triangle Town Center, the mall off Capital Boulevard near Interstate 540.
Macy’s confirmed the closure to The N&O but did not give a closing date.
“The decision allows us to focus on improving nearby Macy’s locations and invest in the stores and digital experiences where customers are choosing to shop today,” a Macy’s spokesperson said in an email.

Women’s clothing store closes in Durham
Loft, a women’s clothing retailer at The Streets at Southpoint mall in Durham, is closing.
The company has three other stores in the Triangle — two in Raleigh, one in Morrisville — which will remain open.
“The landlord opted not to renew our lease at that location,” KnitWell Group, the company that owns Loft, told The N&O in an email.
KnitWell did not respond to The N&O’s question about a closing date. However, Loft removed the Southpoint location from its website, and a call to the Durham store Tuesday, Jan. 6 did not go through.
Loft still appears on the Southpoint website’s map, but is not listed on the directory.
