How NC Walmart shoppers can soon get discounts on gas and grocery delivery

Walmart will soon offer discounts on gas, fast grocery delivery, food and entertainment streaming to North Carolina shoppers — but the deals are only available to certain customers.

Members of the Arkansas-based grocery chain’s Walmart+ program are the only shoppers who can take advantage of the Walmart+ Week savings. This year, Walmart+ week is Monday, April 28 through Sunday, May 4.

The yearly cost of Walmart+ is $98, but you don’t necessarily have to pay that fee to access the Walmart+ Week deals.

Here are details about Walmart+ Week and what shoppers need to do to get the discounts.

What is Walmart+ Week?

Walmart+ Week is the annual week of discounts for members of Walmart+, the grocer’s paid membership program. It started in 2022 as a weekend, allowing Walmart+ members early access to deals, and has since been expanded to a full week focusing on benefits that Walmart+ members can access. The membership offers perks such as:

  • Free, expedited pharmacy and grocery delivery
  • Free shipping on other orders
  • Gas and Burger King discounts
  • Free Paramount+ streaming
  • Mobile scan and go at in-store checkout

During this year’s Walmart+ Week, members can get:

  • 50 cents off each gallon of gas at participating Exxon and Mobil stations, including in North Carolina
  • Up to two free Croissan’wich or Whopper Jr. sandwiches from Burger King each day with a $1 purchase
  • One free express delivery, with essentials and other items delivered in as soon as an hour
  • Bonus $10 Walmart Cash if members take advantage of at least two Walmart+ Week offers
  • $5 Walmart Cash for members who use mobile scan and go in store on one order of at least $15
  • Six months of Paramount+ with Showtime

How to access Walmart+ Week deals

Most of the offers are only available to paid members.

  • The $10 bonus Walmart Cash is only available to existing members, not new or trial members, or people who joined Walmart+ within 30 days of the offer date.
  • The $5 Walmart Cash perk, and free express delivery, Burger King sandwiches and Paramount+ with Showtime are available to paid members only.

The only deal available to Walmart+ members who only have a free trial is fuel discounts.

New Walmart+ members can start a 30-day free trial. However, to sign up for the free trial (at walmart.com/plus), customers will have to provide a method of payment to have on file, and it will be charged once the trial period expires.

Walmart+, which costs about $100 per year, offers members discounts on expedited grocery and pharmacy delivery, food from Burger King and Paramount+ streaming.
