New tenant coming to Raleigh Iron Works + menswear shop expanding at Crabtree
Two Raleigh businesses are moving and expanding at popular shopping destinations.
Curated Events, a rental services company, announced a move to Raleigh Iron Works. And Ticknors Men’s Clothier is growing at Crabtree mall.
Here are the details on the latest retail news.
Curated Events plans move to Raleigh Iron Works
Originally known as CE Rentals, Curated Events has been operating in the Raleigh area for more than 30 years, Alyssa Ruth, the director of sales for Curated Events, told The News & Observer.
The company is a one-stop shop for weddings and social, corporate and nonprofit events, offering tents, tables, chairs, table linens, lighting, drapery, flatware and other items for rent.
For the past seven years, the company — which also has outposts in Charlotte, South Carolina, Virginia and Tennessee — has been located on Craftsman Drive in Raleigh. The business recently opened a temporary showroom at Dock 1053, which is on East Whitaker Mill Road near Raleigh Iron Works.
But Curated Events is opening a new permanent showroom at the Double Gable building at Raleigh Iron Works. Expected to open this fall, the 4,553-square-foot showroom will feature design tables for inspiration, rental products and spaces for meetings between event consultants and clients.
Work on the showroom is currently underway, and Ruth said Curated Events is creating a space that reflects the spirit of the brand and conserves the historic aesthetic of the property.
“It’s been a really fun design process,” Ruth said.
Curated Events hopes that after the showroom opens, its clients will be able to enjoy a full experience at the mixed-use Raleigh Iron Works, visiting the local shops and restaurants, Ruth said.
Raleigh Iron Works is located at 1101 E. Whitaker Mill Road.
Ticknors Men’s Clothier expanding at Crabtree mall
Ticknors, which offers an in-house tailor shop, a made-to-measure and a bespoke suit shop, will have more room for window displays and product choices in its space on the upper level of the shopping center.
Ticknors has 13 stores in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Ohio and North Carolina, but the Crabtree store is its top-performing location, according to a press release.
“We couldn’t be more excited about the expansion allowing us to offer our guests even more choices,” Vern Ticknor, the founder and owner of Ticknors, said in a press release. “We give each customer a personal experience curated specifically for them. Our many brand offerings, added to that personal experience, sets us apart in, as we say, shaping the unique gentleman, whether that be formal wear or fresh, stylish looks.”
