Opening date set for Raleigh’s new Duck Donuts. In its honor, vote for the best DD order
A North Carolina-born doughnut shop is opening its newest Triangle location soon.
Duck Donuts will begin serving customers at its Lake Boone Shopping Center store June 22.
The location at 2414 Wycliff Road in Raleigh will be the fourth store for franchise owners Kelly and Brandon Trimyer, who own Duck Donuts shops in Cary, Durham and Raleigh.
“We are very excited to be expanding into this area of Raleigh where we hope to delight a new crowd of neighbors, and hope to see some familiar friends, too,” Brandon Trimyer said in a press release.
Duck Donuts is offering specials for the grand opening of the 2,028-square-foot store. The first person in line when the store opens at 6 a.m. Saturday will get a dozen donuts free each month for a year. The next 50 people in line will get the Sprinkling Happiness Package, 24 doughnuts and a bucket of coffee, for a future visit.
In addition to made-to-order doughnuts, customers will find coffee, doughnut breakfast sandwiches, doughnut sundaes, frozen drinks and milkshakes at Duck Donuts. The Raleigh location will be open 6 a.m.-7 p.m. daily.
The first Duck Donuts shops opened in 2007 in Duck and Kitty Hawk. Since then, the company — which is headquartered in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania — has expanded to more than 150 locally owned and operated locations across 25 states, Puerto Rico, Thailand, Canada, Qatar, Pakistan and Egypt.
What else is happening at Lake Boone Shopping Center?
The News & Observer recently reported on new businesses at the Raleigh shopping center:
- Ace Hardware will open in early August in the old Walgreen’s space. Its grand opening is scheduled for Aug. 23-25.
- The Starbucks at the shopping center is temporarily closed for renovations.
- In May, McDonald’s debuted its new store, complete with two drive-thru lanes, touch-screen ordering kiosks, curbside pick-up parking spaces and other features.
- Chicken Salad Chick and The Butcher’s Market opened in November 2023 and December 2023, respectively.
