Indian restaurant with 3 Triangle locations will open 2 more next year. Here’s where
An Indian restaurant founded in Durham in 2019 is adding two new Triangle locations next year.
Lime & Lemon Indian Grill & Bar will soon be in six towns and cities, with restaurants in Apex and Rolesville planned to open in 2025, a public relations representative for the restaurant told The News & Observer in an email.
These restaurants will join the original Bull City spot along with locations in Raleigh and Chapel Hill. There’s also a location in a Hilton Garden Inn in Jacksonville, which is called Lime & Lemon Fusion Grill & Bar because it has a different menu.
New Lime & Lemon locations
The Apex restaurant, to be located at 2025 Creekside Landing Drive in the Beaver Creek Crossings shopping center, will come first, with a planned opening in spring 2025. The shopping center houses eateries like Red Robin, Longhorn Steakhouse and Tandoori Trail.
Lime & Lemon was drawn to Beaver Creek Crossings because of its ample parking and proximity to Interstate 540. The restaurant also considered Apex’s growing population and the concentration of Indian people in Western and Southern Wake County, allowing Lime & Lemon to provide a “taste and feeling of ‘home’” with the community, the public relations representative told The N&O.
Rolesville’s restaurant is expected to open later next year at the Cobblestone Village development off Rolesville Center Road near West Young Street and Main Street.
Lime & Lemon’s menu
Praised by former N&O food critic Greg Cox for its navratan korma, a curry dish made with mixed vegetables and dried fruits, Lime & Lemon offers a culinary tour of India.
The extensive menu features options for carnivores and vegetarians alike, along with a section devoted to dishes common in Southern India, where executive chef Sengu Arumugam is from.
“I’m pretty sure you could close your eyes and point to something on the menu, and be happy with your choice,” Cox wrote in 2019.
A few popular dishes are the mango lime chicken, Bombay lamb chops and the biryani plates, available with veggies, chicken, goat or shrimp.
Bar & new menu items in Apex
The Apex location boasts the largest kitchen of the Lime & Lemon family, enabling the restaurant to expand its menu. While diners will find many familiar selections, the Beaver Creek Crossings spot will have unique items including some Indo Chinese-inspired options.
It will also have a 35-foot full bar surrounded by an Indian-inspired lounge area, featuring plush floor cushions, poufs and low divan sofas where customers can drink cocktails.
