This North Raleigh grill spot was named North Carolina’s top affordable restaurant
Tucked away in a North Raleigh strip mall, a Capital Boulevard restaurant is being lauded for its affordable dishes.
In a national round-up of bang for your buck bites, Aggie’s Grill Station in Raleigh is North Carolina’s pick for top “cheap eats” in the state.
Aggie’s scored North Carolina’s spot in a compilation of the 50 top affordable restaurants in every state in a survey by CashNetUSA. The survey highlighted economical restaurants with high ratings on the review site Yelp, scouring 500 American cities.
The survey named Lola’s Kitchen, an ocean-side diner in New Hampshire, as the country’s top affordable restaurant.
Aggie’s Grill Station menu
Aggie’s opened in 2013 and serves an eclectic menu of chicken wings, hibachi fried rice, steamed dumplings and specials like lobster egg rolls. Owned by Stephen Tan, the kitchen turns out popular items like wings and cheeseburgers, but Aggie’s primarily grills up Chinese dishes, like versions of fried rice and chicken noodle soup with bok choy.
Inside at Aggie’s the dining room is carved up into cozy sections, with tables hidden behind window partitions and greenery.
In Yelp review of Aggie’s, diners praised the pineapple fried rice as one of the restaurant’s best dishes, as well as wonton soup and the tea service.
