Raleigh’s Village District unveiled a new wine bar, Postino WineCafe, with seating for nearly 300 and more than 30 wines by the glass.

A new wine bar opened this week in Raleigh, taking over a cherished cafe space in the city’s Village District.

Postino WineCafe opened Monday in the Village District, moving into the longtime home of Carolina Bakery. This is the second North Carolina location for Postino, which also has a restaurant in Charlotte.

“There is so much to love about Raleigh, and it just made sense to make this our new home,” Postino co-founder and CEO Lauren Bailey said in a press release.

“We truly feel that there is no better place to root ourselves within the Raleigh community than by joining the Village District family,” Bailey said.

Postino first launched in Arizona and has recently moved into Colorado, Texas, California and Georgia.

Postino’s menu focuses on shareable snacks and cheese boards — obviously built around pairing with an extensive wine list, featuring more than two dozen wines by the glass.

The restaurant has more than 174 seats in its nearly 6,000-square-foot space, plus room for 100 more on its outdoor patio.

Postino is open seven days a week for lunch and dinner. Visit postinowinecafe.com for more information.
