Rapper J. Cole, who was raised in Fayetteville, founded the Dreamville Festival, an event that has attracted hip-hop and R&B music fans from around the country since 2018.
This year, performers included Cole, Chris Brown, 50 Cent, SZA, Nicki Minaj, Monica and Sexyy Red. Last year, the festival booked R&B singers Usher, Summer Walker, Burna Boy, with rapper Drake headlining the final night with special guests 21 Savage, Lil Uzi Vert and Lil Wayne.
The festival generated an estimated $145 million in economic impact in 2023 in Raleigh, according to a city report.
