  • Good Graces opens in North Hills as an all-day eatery, bar and local market.
  • Menu items remain under $25, offering budget-friendly meals for all-day dining.
  • Operating hours split by meal type, with breakfast, lunch and small plates menus.

The North Hills Innovation District officially opened its very first full-service restaurant — and it’s a good thing it’s an all-day spot, because you’re definitely not going to want to leave.

Designed to be a “destination for Triangle gourmands,” Good Graces is a market, bar and restaurant that opened its doors mid-August as a place to sit and relax for breakfast through dinner or to grab a quick bite to go.

Think lattes, savory sandwiches, charcuterie boards and specialty cocktails under glistening, gold chandeliers or at the full-service bar, along with the many locally-sourced snacks and wine.

“I envisioned a place where convenience meets quality, and community comes together,” owner Haley Borden previously said in a release sent to The News & Observer. “Good Graces is about celebrating the good things in life, and I’m thrilled to bring this concept to North Hills.”

Good Graces menu

No matter what you’re craving, there’s quite a bit to choose from. For this week’s On a Budget column — in which we check out local restaurants, but keep the visit under $25 — I was stoked to see that everything on the menu is under that amount.

From the price to the portion size to the polished, cozy atmosphere, I don’t think it’ll be long before this becomes a prominent stop for foodies in North Hills. At least for me, it will be.

Here’s a breakdown of what I got during my lunch break this week:

  • BLT made with bacon, heirloom tomatoes, herb mayo, butter lettuce, sourdough bread ($12)
  • Freshly cut fruit, including watermelon, honeydew melon and strawberries ($4)
  • Pasta salad made with artichokes, roasted red peppers and Italian vinaigrette ($5)

An affordable lunch in Raleigh

Before gratuity, the grand total was $22.73 (which, in hindsight, made me wish I took some extra time to scope out the sweets on the market-side for a dessert).

You can buy market goods all day, along with drinks at the bar but the breakfast menu is only available during 7-11 a.m., followed by lunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and small plates from then until 8 p.m.
