Carolina Hurricanes

Looking to commemorate the Canes Stanley Cup win? We’ve got you covered.

The Carolina Hurricanes are Stanley Cup champions again, and fans across the Triangle are looking for ways to celebrate this achievement and remember this special team.

Our journalists have been covering the historic playoff run for weeks, and we have many exclusive stories and photos of this journey and championship at newsobserver.com.

But we also know there is huge demand for commemorative front pages, special editions and keepsakes, too. We’ve got you covered.

Be on the lookout for:

– Tuesday: The print edition will include a commemorative “Perfect Storm!” front page with a celebratory image of Canes captain Jordan Staal.

Friday: The print editions of The News & Observer and The Herald-Sun will include a commemorative edition front page and a 12-page special section about the Canes’ winning season, with expanded coverage, poster pages, game and player highlights, and championship moments. We also will rerun the commemorative “Perfect Storm!” front page from Tuesday inside the special section. Subscribers will get it with their print and digital replica editions. Others will be available for purchase at Triangle retailers including Publix, Harris Teeter, Food Lion and Lowe’s Foods while supplies last.

Sunday: The print editions will include special news coverage of the Triangle’s growth as a pro-sports area, along with additional photos.

Monday: The print editions will have coverage and photos of Saturday’s Canes championship parade and festivities.

YES! We will be reprinting the Tuesday “Perfect Storm!” front page again in our special Stanley Cup commemorative section on Friday.

Can’t wait until Friday? You can get a downloadable version of the cover of our Print Edition here.

What else is in Friday’s special paper?

This special edition of The News & Observer and The Herald-Sun will include a 12-page section about the Canes’ winning season, with expanded coverage, poster pages, game and player highlights, and championship moments. Friday’s paper also will include a new commemorative edition front page, as well as the reprint of the Tuesday “Perfect Storm!” front page.

Will we print more copies of Friday’s paper?

Yes! Friday’s edition will have a significantly larger press run to help meet demand. Our distribution team is planning to restock Friday’s paper at many of the retailers that have been selling out — including Publix, Harris Teeter and Food Lion stores — on Saturday morning ahead of the parade.

Is there a list of specific stores who will have copies?

There is no guarantee whether any store may or may not be sold out. But those stores that may have more include Harris Teeter, Food Lion, Lowes Foods, Family Fare, Han Dee Hugo’s, Bull Market and Publix.

Can you start a subscription today and get Friday’s paper delivered to your home?

We’ve been assured that anyone local who subscribes to the print product Tuesday, June 16 will get Friday’s paper delivered. That may not be the case after Tuesday.

Can readers get print editions mailed to them outside our area?

Unfortunately no. We’re not set up for that.

What else is coming?

Monday: The print editions will have coverage and photos of Saturday’s Canes championship parade and festivities.
