NHL free agency began Wednesday and the Carolina Hurricanes have been active.

Before the noon window opened, the Canes made a trade, sending forward Warren Foegele to the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for defenseman Ethan Bear. Foegele was a restricted free agent.

No moves with veteran defenseman Dougie Hamilton have been made official yet, but the Canes did make some key changes in net. We’re tracking every move the Canes make throughout free agency here.

Players the Hurricanes added in free agency

Tony DeAngelo, D. It’s official. Tony DeAngelo, who had a bad breakup with the New York Rangers, is signing with the Hurricanes. It’s a one-year deal worth $1 million.

Frederik Andersen, G. Essentially a goalie swap for the Canes and Leafs, minus the trade element. Carolina is expected to sign Andersen for two years at $4.5 million.

Antti Raanta, G. Signed a two-year deal with an average annual value of $2 million.

Ian Cole, D. One-year deal at $2.9 million. Spent last season with the Avalanche and Minnesota Wild.

Josh Leivo, F. One-year deal worth $750,000. He most recently played for Calgary.
