Millbrook High’s Caleb Stephens is News & Observer athlete of the week

Millbrook High School’s Caleb Stephens is the News & Observer high school athlete of the week.

Stephens, who earned more than 6,000 votes, finished ahead of Cary’s Collins Black and Chapel Hill’s Josh Campos.

Stephens, a Wildcats’ senior, had four personal-best performances to claim two CAP 7 conference titles and two runner-up finishes at Cardinal Gibbons May 22.

Stephens won the CAP 7 title in both 100-meter dash in 11.12 and the triple jump (45-5).

He also finished as runner-up in the 200-meter dash (22.60) and long jump (22-0) at the same meet.
