Game week has finally arrived, and kickoff comes a few days earlier than usual. N.C. State and UConn face off Thursday in their respective season openers, each team hoping to show off improvements in all three phases.

State returns about 60% of its roster from last season after losing a number of starters. The depth chart, however, features players who have been with the program for multiple years, such as linebacker Jaylon Scott, and are expected to make a substantial impact.

The season is long, but the result of Game 1 could set the tone for the next four months.
