NC State basketball nonconference schedule is out. Here’s who Pack will face next season
N.C. State basketball released its nonconference schedule on Monday. The Wolfpack will host six opponents at PNC Arena, while playing some big time opponents at neutral sites.
N.C. State starts the season on Nov. 7, at home against Austin Peay. The Governors are coached by former Duke player and assistant coach, Nate James. It will be just the second meeting all-time between the two teams, and first since 2009.
The Wolfpack will host Campbell (Nov. 11), FIU (Nov. 15) and Elon (Nov. 19) before heading to the Bahamas for three games as part of the Battle 4 Atlantis.
That field includes BYU, Dayton, Kansas, USC, Tennessee, Wisconsin and Butler, featuring former N.C. State center Manny Bates.
The Wolfpack returns to PNC on Nov. 30 to host William & Mary. On Dec. 6, N.C. State will take on Coppin State at Reynolds Coliseum for the annual Heritage Game. The Pack will host Furman on Dec. 13.
On Dec. 17, the Wolfpack travels to Chicago to take on Vanderbilt in the 2022 Legends of Basketball Chicago Hoops Showcase at the United Center.
It will be the second time in the past four years the Pack and Commodores meet in a neutral site contest. N.C. State defeated Vanderbilt, 80-65, in 2018 in the Hoophall Miami Invitational at American Airlines Arena.
The Wolfpack went 11-21 last season, 4-16 in ACC play. State went 6-4 in non-conference play, including a loss to Richmond in Charlotte, and a loss to Wright State at PNC Arena. In the offseason, Kevin Keatts revamped his entire staff and added four transfer players.
