Want to watch the ECU-Cincinnati college football game on TV? Here’s how to find it
East Carolina has a golden opportunity to play spoiler to unbeaten Cincinnati’s College Football Playoff hopes when the teams meet in Greenville on Friday.
ECU is going bowling after a four-game win streak ran the Pirates’ record to 7-4. Most recently, ECU vanquished Navy on the road, edging the Midshipmen 38-35 in Annapolis. That followed wins over USF, Temple and an OT thriller at Memphis.
Freshman Owen Daffer drilled a 54-yard field goal as time expired to lift the Pirates to that win over Navy, securing for ECU its first winning season since 2014.
Cincinnati, meanwhile, is making waves at the national level. Unbeaten at 11-0 with a shot to play in the playoffs, quarterback Desmond Ridder tossed three touchdowns, rushed for a score and caught his first career touchdown to lead the Bearcats to a 48-14 victory over SMU last Saturday at Nippert Stadium.
Cincinnati has already secured a spot in the AAC title game on Dec. 4 against Houston, but can earn the right to host the game with a win over ECU on Friday.
The teams meet this afternoon on a nationally televised ABC broadcast, scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
