Kon Knueppel was an elite shooter at Duke for coach Jon Scheyer before entering the 2025 NBA draft and being taken fourth overall in the first round by the Charlotte Hornets. He was the runnerup to former Duke teammate Cooper Flagg in balloting for NBA rookie of the year and was a member of the NBA All-Rookie Team.

Kager Knueppel was being recruited by Purdue and Wisconsin of the Big Ten and is considered one of the best shooters in the country, in the mold of his older brother. Playing for Team Herro in the Nike EYBL Circuit, he shot better than 50% on 3-pointers as his recruiting ranking quickly rose.
