Indiana Fever Rookie Raven Johnson Comments on Angel Reese's Post
WNBA rookie Raven Johnson played a big role in the Indiana Fever's 83-71 win against Angel Reese and the Atlanta Dream on Thursday night. Johnson finished with five points, two rebounds, three assists and two steals, all while recording the highest plus-minus rating on the team at +15.
Johnson helped the Fever snap a two-game losing streak and earn a win to start the WNBA Commissioner's Cup.
While Johnson's performance was noteworthy, one storyline involving her that drew plenty of attention was her relationship with Reese. The two were seen sharing a moment and embracing before the game.
Johnson and Reese have a good relationship, stemming from their days competing at the SEC. As many fans know, Reese played for the LSU Tigers, while Johnson starred for the South Carolina Gamecocks.
When Johnson was drafted by the Fever, Reese was quick to react and celebrate her WNBA arrival.
While they are still rivals on the court in the WNBA, their friendship clearly remains strong.
On Friday, Johnson showed her love for Reese as well. After the Dream forward posted photos of her pregame outfit for the Fever game, Johnson was among the first to comment.
"always a nobody bringing me up," Reese wrote in the caption of her post, along with several photos of her arrival at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
Johnson loved Reese's outfit and message, responding with several heart-eye emojis and the comment, "Get into it."
The Fever and the Dream will play each other again at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on June 18. There will undoubtedly be plenty of eyes on Johnson and Reese, especially as fans continue to discuss their relationship amid the Fever-Dream rivalry.
