New team joins NC high school baseball poll with playoffs looming
As the high school baseball hits the postseason this week, there is only one new team in the N.C statewide rankings.
The rankings are sponsored by The Charlotte Observer and the News & Observer of Raleigh. They are compiled by longtime N.C. high school sports expert Alex Bass, a co-host of The Observer’s “Talking Preps” streaming show.
The lone new team is Asheville (16-6-1) in the 3A poll.
This is the last ranking before the final polls are released after the season.
