Mother Nature couldn’t wait until Friday to have an impact on high school football. Several games were already moved to Thursday in anticipation of heavy rain on Friday.

However, with storms creeping into the area Thursday evening, some of those games were delayed and eventually pushed back to Friday, the original start date for week one. Apex at Broughton never got started and was moved back to Friday at 7 PM. South Granville and Knightdale started their game, but lightning in the area caused a delay and the game was called.

Postponed from Thursday

Athens Drive at Holly Springs, 4 PM

Corinth Holders at Millbrook, 6:30 PM

SATURDAY

Enloe at South Garner, 10 AM

Cary at SE Raleigh, 3 PM

Cardinal Gibbons at Wake Forest, 3 PM

Apex at Broughton, 5 PM

Northwood at Apex Friendship, 6 PM

We’ll continue to update this list if more games are rescheduled.
