NCCU adds Wichita State transfer guard CJ Keyser
C.J. Keyser, a 6-3 point guard from Baltimore, MD, announced on his twitter page Tuesday morning that he was transferring to North Carolina Central.
Keyser spent two seasons at Wichita State. The sophomore announced in April that he was transferring. During the 2017-18 season Keyser appeared in 18 games, averaging seven minutes per game. He was suspended for the first four games last season for an unspecified suspension, according to the Wichita Eagle.
Keyser scored a career-high 11 points versus Tulane last season during a 93-86 win. Coming out of Brewster Academy (Wolfeboro, NH), Keyser verbally committed to Colorado State before eventually signing with the Shockers.
Keyser will have to sit out next season, and will be a redshirt junior for the 2019-20 season. That will give LeVelle Moton two transfer guards on the 2019-20 roster. Former Boston College and St. Louis guard, Ty Graves, transferred to N.C. Central in February.
