Veteran Cowboys WR brings seven-year NFL career to a close
A veteran wide receiver with the Dallas Cowboys is officially wrapping up his NFL career.
On Wednesday, wideout Parris Campbell was placed on the reserve/retired list by the Cowboys after spending seven years in the NFL. He first joined the league in 2019, after being selected in the second round of that year's NFL Draft by the Indianapolis Colts. He will depart the league less than two months before his 29th birthday.
Campbell struggled with injuries throughout most of his NFL career, which began in his rookie season with the Colts, when he played just 7 games and recorded 127 yards and 1 touchdown. He was injured at various points over the next two seasons before having his breakout campaign in 2022, where he started 16 games and tallied 63 receptions for 623 receiving yards and three receiving touchdowns.
Since then, he has played one season each with the Giants, Eagles, and Cowboys, capturing Super Bowl LIX with the Eagles. He made just one appearance and recorded no stats for the Cowboys last season, spending most of the year on the practice roster.
