UPDATE: Severe thunderstorm warning previously issued for Pender County will expire at 7:45 p.m.

The warning had been issued for Pender County.

"The storm which prompted the warning has weakened just below severe limits, and no longer poses an immediate threat to life or property. Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire. However, small hail, gusty winds and heavy rain are still possible with this thunderstorm. Please send your reports of hail or wind damage, including trees or large limbs downed, by calling the National Weather Service office in Wilmington at 1 800 697 3901," says the NWS Wilmington NC.

The warning is in effect until 7:45 p.m.
