The warning was active for Beaufort, Hyde, Tyrrell and Washington counties.
"The storms which prompted the warning have weakened below severe limits, and no longer poses an immediate threat to life or property. Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire. However, gusty winds and some pea size hail are still possible with these thunderstorms," says the NWS Newport/Morehead City NC.
The warning is in effect until 6 p.m.
