The warning was issued for Bertie, Chowan and Perquimans counties.
"The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe limits, and has exited the warned area. Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 9 p.m. for northeastern North Carolina," describes the NWS Wakefield VA.
The warning is in effect until 5:15 p.m.
