Air quality alert for the Piedmont region until 1 a.m. Thursday

On Wednesday at 2:41 p.m. an air quality alert was reported by the NWS Raleigh NC in effect until Thursday at 1 a.m. The alert is for Forsyth, Guilford, Alamance, Davidson and Randolph counties.
"The Forsyth County Office of Environmental Assistance and Protection in Winston Salem NC has issued a Code Orange Air Quality Action Day for Ground Level Ozone, until midnight tonight," states the NWS.
This alert is in effect until Thursday at 1 a.m.
