Weather alert for Eastern North Carolina until Wednesday evening

The NWS Wilmington NC issued a report at 2:23 p.m. on Tuesday for fire danger until Wednesday at 7 p.m. The alert is for Inland Pender, Coastal Pender, Inland New Hanover, Coastal New Hanover, Inland Brunswick and Coastal Brunswick as well as Robeson, Bladen and Columbus counties.
"The combination of dry fuels, low relative humidity, and gusty winds will lead to increased fire danger on Wednesday. Relative humidity values will drop to 25 to 30%, accompanied by southwest winds of 10 to 15 mph with gusts to 20 mph," states the NWS.
The NWS states, "Please refer to your local burn permitting authorities on whether you can burn. If you do, you are advised to use extreme caution."
This alert is in effect until Wednesday at 7 p.m.
