Freeze warning active for Northwest Piedmont Tuesday

At 12:51 p.m. on Monday, the NWS Blacksburg VA issued a freeze warning valid for Tuesday between midnight and 9 a.m. The warning is for Surry, Stokes, Rockingham, Caswell, Wilkes and Yadkin counties.

The NWS informs, "Temperatures near 30 degrees expected."

"Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops and other sensitive vegetation," adds the NWS. "Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold."

This warning is in effect until Tuesday at 9 a.m.
