Expect fire danger in Eastern North Carolina until Monday evening, says the NWS

The NWS Wilmington NC issued a weather alert at 9:38 p.m. on Sunday for fire danger until Monday at 7 p.m. The alert is for Inland Pender, Coastal Pender, Inland New Hanover, Coastal New Hanover, Inland Brunswick and Coastal Brunswick as well as Robeson, Bladen and Columbus counties.
"The combination of dry fuels, low relative humidity, and gusty winds will lead to increased fire danger today. Relative humidity values will drop to 25 to 30%, accompanied by northwest winds of 15 to 20 mph with gusts to 25 mph," explains the NWS.
The NWS states, "Please refer to your local burn permitting authorities on whether you can burn. If you do, you are advised to use extreme caution."
This alert is in effect until Monday at 7 p.m.
