The NWS Greenville-Spartanburg SC issued an updated weather alert at 2:44 a.m. on Monday for fire danger until 10 p.m. The alert is for Greater Caldwell, Greater Burke, Eastern McDowell, Greater Rutherford and Eastern Polk as well as Alexander, Iredell, Davie, Catawba, Rowan, Cleveland, Lincoln, Gaston, Mecklenburg, Cabarrus and Union counties.
