Search is on for hit-and-run driver after crash leaves 31-year-old dead, SC cops say
A 31-year-old woman died after being hit by two cars in South Carolina, officials said.
Now, the search is on for a driver accused of leaving the scene of the March 26 crash, according to the S.C. Highway Patrol.
State troopers said a Ford sedan was traveling in Spartanburg County when the driver hit a person in the road. Another vehicle also struck the pedestrian and reportedly drove away from the crash site.
The incident happened just after 11 p.m. on Hidden Hill Road, south of Spartanburg, officials said in a news release.
The pedestrian was rushed to a hospital and died of crash-related injuries. The Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased woman as Erica Antionette Carree.
As of March 28, state troopers continued to search for clues about the hit-and-run driver. Officials in a Facebook post said the vehicle the person used could have “damage to the lower front end.”
